ES The situation:
A software solutions developer using Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O as an accounting system was faced with the need to update its operating system to improve time tracking and project costing. This update was the transition from on-premise Jira to Cloud Jira. This requires reworking integration flows and using other security tools.
Purpose:
Implement seamless integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O with Cloud Jira. At the same time, ensure continuous operation of the time tracking system and calculation of project costs whilst switching to Cloud Jira.
Technical challenges:
The main problem is ensuring security during data transfer between on-premise and cloud services.
Problems with authorization because the Jira system uses tokens that require prior acquisition before accessing the API.
There is a need to certify a user as trusted in Jira. At the same time, you need to prove to Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O that the data comes from a secure cloud service.
Solution:
We have developed an interaction mechanism that takes into account the features of authorization using tokens in Jira.
We have implemented procedures and protocols to confirm the reliability of interaction and security of data transfer between Cloud Jira and Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.
Results:
- Successfully integrated Cloud Jira and Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.
- Provided time tracking and project costing functionality.
- Overcame the complexity of the interactions and ensured data security when migrating to the cloud service.
Thus, the company has implemented an effective project management solution while maintaining high standards of security and reliability in the cloud environment.
