Optimizing the supply chain of a construction company using the WE.RP (our ERP mobile solution)

Problem:

Construction companies often face ineffective inventory management, complex shipping processes, and a lack of transparency in supplies.

A construction company, in order to ensure efficient operation, decided to improve its inventory management system and delivery processes.

Solution:

We’ve developed a comprehensive solution for AX, complemented by mobile and web interfaces of the WE.RP platform. The solution provides transparency, ease of interaction with suppliers, and efficient management of warehouse operations.

Step 1: Application from the Manager of the Construction Site

The site manager fills out an application for the necessary construction materials through a mobile application.

Step 2: Create an Order in Dynamics AX

The application automatically occurs in AX, where each material has its own Material Limit (the limit that sets the amount of material required to fulfill the application).

Step 3: Sending of Applications to Suppliers

Via the WE.RP data bus, the application is automatically sent to all suppliers on the platform who can offer the required goods.

The system automatically detects product codes that are easily identified for different suppliers.

Suppliers see a list of items for delivery and offer their terms.

Step 4: Selection of Supplier

Incoming offers are evaluated by the system, taking into account the supplier’s rating, the quality of previously provided goods, price and delivery speed.

Step 5: Creating an Order and Preparing for Delivery

The selected supplier creates an order, indicates the quantity and creates QR codes for marking the supplied containers, as well as driver and vehicle data, generating all the necessary documentation.

Step 6: Delivery and Reception on Construction Site

Transport with the loaded items is sent to the construction site. Upon arrival, the site manager scans QR codes through a mobile application, records the acceptance of goods and adds important information such as quantity, weights, etc.

Step 7: Data Processing in AX

Delivery information is automatically reflected in AX, where documents are generated and sent to the supplier. The system automatically creates a receipt for the warehouse.

Results:

  • Convenient end-to-end process for sending and receiving materials.
  • Full transparency for all participants in the process.
  • The supplier selection algorithm takes into account key factors.
  • Mobile tool for work on the construction site.
  • Prompt work with defects and preparation of closing documents.
  • Security of identification of transport upon delivery.
  • Integration with document flow
  • Ability to work offline and upload/download data when connection is restored.
  • Top management can manage processes and make decisions online. Data from the warehouse is controlled in various sections of information.

Additional Features:

  • Integration with PDT (Portable data terminal) for ease of data entry.
  • Creating a user-friendly interface for working with AX, including forms with complex table headers and multi-dimensional hierarchies.
  • Increased document management capabilities, including integration with biometrics to confirm the authorship of documents.
  • Flexibility in customizing the solution to the needs of the company without switching to a new version.
  • Rapid implementation of modern interfaces based on existing AX functionality (approximately 16-40 hours for 1 interface).
  • Possibility of connecting temporary employees through a mobile application.
  • WE.RP allows you to connect not only mobile devices and computers, but also TVs and other Android devices.

We create solutions specifically tailored for your needs. It’s important to note that all data will be stored on your server and not externally. If there is a need for changes, you can give the task to your developers who have already worked on AX (X++ programmers). This can be done without involving third parties using other development environments or frameworks.
